A petition has been filed on behalf of the two remaining survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Massacre in the Greenwood District. The survivors are Mother Viola Fletcher and Mother Lessie Randall. The petition asks the Oklahoma Supreme Court to reconsider its recent decision in the case. Under Oklahoma law, murder and arson meets the definition of public nuisance. Mothers Fletcher and Randall stated a claim of relief under that criteria. The court maintains that the issue is “political” and beyond their purview. The further delays by the court gives a strong appearance of being by design. Both ladies celebrate their 110th birthdays this year.
